A Few Things To Consider

1. The first thing to do is see if the domain name you desire for your website is available. Let me know what you are interested in and I'll be glad to check for you.

2. Start thinking about how many email addresses you may want. You can have up to 5 email addresses with your site. Additional email addresses are available at an extra cost. Also remember that emails (ie sales @ yourcompany.com) can be forwarded to more than one location. Mail can be delivered via Web mail, POP 3 accounts, or forwarded to your usual email address.

3. What size site do you require? How much do you want to spend? While I will try to work with you on the number of pages, special design features, etc., there is only so much I can do to assist. You can't cram 7 or 8 pages of information into 1 or 2 pages. It just doesn't work like that and I will not design anything like that.

4. Start preparing a bio and history of the company. It is always nice to include this information

5. Gather together any advertising material you may have. Much of this information can be included in the website.

6. I can put a form in your website that people requesting info can fill in. If this is something you are interested in, think of what you want in the form. The form can be sent as an email and can be sent to multiple addresses.

7. Prepare a list of those companies or products you represent. I can put in their logo and also provide a link to their websites if you'd like. This is helpful in that your customer can see everything that you or your suppliers have to offer.

8. Take some photos of your business (outside and inside), employees, trucks, etc. If possible use a digital camera and forward via email. If you need I will come to your site and take a few pictures or video.

9. Gather a list of all professional associations you may belong to as well as any civic organizations. Also, if you sponsor a little league team, etc. let me know. People enjoy dealing with organizations that give back to the community around us.

10. Begin thinking of how you want your website to be broken down. Some examples may include: Home Page, About Us, Our Philosophy, Location (including map and driving directions), Contact Us, Products, Services, Pricing, Monthly Special, Coupons page, FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions), Related Links, News & Events, Customer Testimonials, Site Map, Terms & Conditions, etc. These are only a few examples. You might come across many others that are applicable.

11. If you have a list of sample websites that you like forward their web address to me in an email. Let me know what you liked or disliked about any sites. This will be a great help to me

12. As I begin working on your website I will keep you informed every step of the way.
